Will Kimberly Caldwell effect Cook's Record Sales and Career?

So many fans are upset over the fact that David Cook is dating Kimberly Caldwell.  Many fans expressed that they are NOT jealous, but they are unhappy with his choice.   Some fans feel he will always be linked to a D List former Idol contestant and won't be able to shake off the Idol stigma.   Many fans feel he is acting too much like a married man.  Some fans feel he lied to them throughout the show to gain votes because he was single. 

What do you think about this relationship?

I personally don't think she is pretty enough for him, and I agree I don't think she is popular enough herself. I disagree that he is acting like he has married and that he lied. It just happened right after the show, and he said they are just having fun, nothing serious, and she is a nice girl. I don't think that is anywhere near acting married. I just think he can find someone prettier and more popular.

I don't think the poster is interested in him, she is simplly asking for an opinion based on several message boards and article comments read.

I agree, I think Kim Caldwell is a manipulator and an attention getter and she knows David Cook will bring her massive attention.

From what I read on boards, no one is jealous they think she is loud and obnoxious and has a sleazy past, having slept with at least 10 other idol contestants. She reminds me of a typical bar chick who smokes in bars, and makes out with rockers.

I too don't think Cook is thinking straight.

Caldwell makes him look bad. He should be with a more intelligent and mature woman...and that is not what Caldwell is.

David is new to this "game" but he is smart and I respect him and his choices....he will learn from this. He is a man who can live his life...perhaps the seperation when on tour will change the situation.

I think too that the Caldwell girl is not right for him, some of the comments to this statement of mine say that we should let him and that we cannot tell him who he chooses to date. well, i know that is true, unfortunately, i cannot also force myself to continue liking him as much as i liked him before i knew about this Caldwell girl. It's really sad, but i can't help myself, It sort of makes me lonely and disappointed of him and as i have said, i don't like him as much anymore :(

It will definitely affect the record sales. I am just being real. a few might say i am being selfish, well, yes i am, and so are other fans out there, ( i said other ok, not all)that's just the way it is. DC must evaluate things up. And one of the comments here is right, he's acting like he's married. gosh! he's so disappointing. i'm not quite listening to his music anymore. i feel so bad :(

I guess I missed what she did that was so awful...what she was voted 7th idol runner up...what she had a teeny bit in a horror movie...she's worked for readers dig and mtv...what? People get over it, they are the same age, obviously have alot in common and each one aren't ALL that, so they are enough for ea other and getting laid, which most of you obviously aren't! OH thats right, by the posts you probably aren't old enough!

liha600 - you just listed work that only a D lister could get. Does Justin Gurrini ring a bell, he co-host along with her. The girl is a w h o r e. She Slept and admitted to on Howard Stearn that she dated and slept with at least 10 former idol contestants. Simon Cowell did not think she had a likable personality, she had a DUI a few years ago, she is obnoxious and is constantly seeking the spotlight at anyone's expense. She made an BOOGEDY out of herself all season telling his fans she was going to make out with him. And please don't anyone to get over anything, we are all entitled to our opinions.

There's more. There's the Howard Stern interview. She likes to go commando and wear short skirts. She said she wants to be famous and rich. She couldn't win idol, so she snagged a winner. She's loud, talks over people, she moves around constantly like she's on speed, she made fun of DC's fans after he asked her out and tried to flaunt their relationship. She's out there like Jolie, only she has no talent, media BOOGEDY drinking up all the publicity. She's costing him record sales. Lots of people don't like her and have been very verbal about it, despite AI's attempt to make them the hottest couple. DC is losing some of the fans who voted their fingers off to get him that win. I still love his music, but I heard that he actually sang to her during one of concerts. Then of course, there is the not attending the meet and greets to rush off to be with yoko kimo. DC should concentrate on his career, not the gf.

For me, she always was annoying during idol competition, and of course she can't sing so she didn't win. Then there's the playing with the fake hair, and talking about the fake hair (ok, she's allowed to have fake hair, but please spare us with the playing and talking about it, mkay?). She's fake, and definitely not the type of person that DC portrayed during idol that he was attracted to. Although I love DC's performances, I'm put off by the gf. I will continue to buy his music as long as it is good, and hopefully won't reflect yoko kimo.

Oh yeah, she posed for men's magazine, too. I forgot that one. I'm sure there's more on her if you google her, look at the Howard Stern interview, etc. I also heard that she boasted about how she was to blame for idols having to ride separate buses to separate males/females...wonder what exactly she did on that bus? I also heard some other stuff that I won't repeat because I don't know if it is true, something having to do with more than 1 guy, etc.

I am laughing my butt off on this topic. David is a very smart guy(and yes I know him) and knows what he is doing. Who he dates is his own business. The guy is happy let him lead his own life.

I hope DC concentrates more on his music than his gf. Lots of his fans are put off by her, don't know what to think since they didn't like her before her Idol winner hookup. Hopefully, DC won't miss many more opportunities to be with his fans due to gf. Not elaborating, just hope he is doing what he can while he can...that's all I'm sayin'

(Excerpt from Aug 6 David Cook Free Speech Journal Comments article): Man, TMZ hates Caldwell, don't blame them. She is way too D list for A lister Cook. Mr Cook is also pissing fans off after he has been a no show since Caldwell is in town. He was seen getting into a limo right after the show with Caldwell, and speeding off.... (no meet, no greet)
