85 billion dollars to bailout Americans losing their homes, 85 billion dollars to help those Americans devastated in the last 5 years by hurricanes and other natural disasters. 85 billion dollars to educate our children, 85 billion dollars to insert in retirement funds ravaged by scum CEO’s and corporations. 85 billion dollars to enhance minimum wage, 85 billion dollars to support and lessen the blow of exuberant medical bills, 85 billion dollars to help those losing their jobs, and those looking for non existent jobs. 85 billion dollars to be spent in so many ways, 85 BILLION. . . yet again NOT coming to the AMERICAN citizen who actually NEEDS it!

Union Station wants to add a property tax levy to the ballot to keep the historic building active and in the black. In my humble opinion what they need to do is fire the management team, and then regroup. Anytime a business tries to keep themselves afloat by seemingly milking the public is doomed to fail. Charging exuberant prices to visit their exhibits is a case and cause for failure. Case in point, the $24.00 admittance fee for "Bodies Revealed" kept me from being able to go see the much touted exhibit. And I am sure I wasn’t alone in my inability, or unwillingness to pay such a high price. A few of my friends who did visit the display found it very interesting, but no where near worth the asking price. My idea: charging lower admission fees would prompt repeat business. Instead of trying to get 50 people to pay $24.00, how about having a reasonable fee charge of $12.00 and give 25 people the opportunity to possibly see the exhibit more than once. REPEAT business is the key to success, not gouging prices in a desperate attempt to keep your business in the black.

John McCain, a man of honor, a man of war and man changed by war. If any of you had a relative or loved one who played a role in VIETNAM or any war, you know that they never come home the same as when they left. They never recover from the scars, the chaos and the horror that war is. They never come home 100 percent- how can they? John McCain went through a horrible ordeal from 1967-1973 as a prisoner of war in Vietnam suffering more than most soldiers through years of torture- physical, mental, emotional.

Knowing the toll that John McCain suffered for his country in his body, mind and spirit how secure and steady a "world leader" will he actually be? He was able to withstand immense torture and pain as a young officer in the war that ended many years ago, but how well has he actually recovered?

It is no small task being the President of the United States of America. The office has taken its toll on many a good man, those who served in wars and those blessedly never having been exposed to one. Bless John McCain for his undying service to this country, for his remarkable heroism, for the years of torture he endured, for being the man that he is- but at this older age, knowing what he has endured, is he really capable of withstanding the pressures of being President of the United States?

Matthew 16:13-18

13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

It seems to me to be a very misguided misnomer that some believe the Christian church was built upon a man named Peter Simon Barjona (the rock). One who would go on to deny the Christ three times in one night. This passage of scripture shows me it was NOT Peter that the church was built upon, but the ability Peter possessed to open himself up for the Holy spirit of God to communicate with him and reveal truths. It is THIS communication from God to man through the spirit, that the church was built upon. This ROCK, which the gates of hell can NOT prevail against.
