SALT LAKE CITY  --  Jeff Archuleta, the father of "American Idol" finalist David Archuleta, has gained notoriety for his alleged role as a "stage dad." Jeff was reportedly banned from backstage rehearsals. But he is still in Los Angeles to support David (video: MyFoxUtah) through the rest of the season.

"It's nonsense. Jeff is still there. I talked to him yesterday. He was at the photo shoot with David all day," said Dean Kaelin, David Archuleta's voice coach.
