Why do you suppose the press picked the "maverick" as the GOP presidential candidate? Should be obvious to all by now, they knew his appeal to conservatives was so slight he would lose. He is just barely more conservative than obama, and provided such a weak alternative to him that his chance of winning essentially assured a win for the obamatron, stutterring fool that he is.Now most of the republicans have jumped aboard the bailout train so as to appear in touch with the people. What a bunch of future election losers they shall turn out to be. By the way, contrary to the fawning speeches by allegedly conservative pundits, the obamatron is not my president, he is the president, and thus deserves the great respect I reserve for all politicians. (puke here) I feel now I should participate in government largess and apply for my fair share in bailouts/handouts in the form of food stamps. What do you think? later gnome  p.s. check out the last post, endorsements by con men!

It doesn't bother me at all that the new president is a black American, only that he is a communist. It is quite understandable for blacks to be so enthusiastic about Obama's election and congratulations to him for his effective campaign strategy. One can only hope that his redistribution tendencies will be somewhat curtailed by a thinking opposition rather than this specious policy of cooperation. We shall all see once he occupies his seat in the oval office. Personal animosity towards our new president is not acceptable to the gnome, nor should anyone else harbor hostility or ill-will. While it is obvious that 95% of caucasian Americans did not vote for McCain, and 95% of black Americans did vote for Obama, this isn't so much racist as racial cohesion. Someday the first black whatever will no longer be of signifigance (in a more perfect world). Again I say, think friends and keep on smiling, for regardless of who is in political power, you have the most control of your future and your life. later 1st gnome (the Brewski is responsible for this post and no....)

Not surprising, they keep electing murtha. Whoever wins is not really of much significance to me, however I'll be laughing my butt off when America realizes the stupidity of putting a commucrat in the presidential office. I did warn you , prepare for a screwing without the promised kiss. later gnome

Do you remember? When Kay Barnes was mayor and had her cousin Walter Kronkite (one of the original leftist television "jounalists,," and that's the way it is"), trusted by the average American to inform ,not promote, extoll the wisdom of refurbishing Union Station and creating science city as worthwhile and profitable? It still costs taxpayers millions, though Kansans finally wised up and declined the opportunity to further fund this boondogle. Or how about the taxpayer financed TWA overhaul facility at KCI @ 200 million that the airline is now trying to close? She is happy to spend your money and if it doesn't work out....well you know, she thought it was a good idea.  So give her the chance to spend money on a national stage, you can bet her judgement will be equally sound.  Perhaps you will recall this... a nursing home in Clay county had a rape and death of an edlerly woman. A "spokesperson from then Jackson County Prosecutor McKaskills' office replied in the KC star that it was outside her (McKaskill's) jurisdiction. Does it seem odd to you that after she 'looked into it" according to that spokesperson that an out of court settlement was reached with the next of kin and the records were then sealed as part of that settlement? Well, maybe not, but then again shortly thereafter she married the owner  of that same nursing home? Nothing suspicious there! The fact  that he possessed all the attractiveness of a troll and not the marital exception from requisite testimony was obviosly indicative for the unexpected marriage, or his ability to finance her further political ambitions. And then we have the Pastor of a poor inner city church, who 'sheparded" his friends through the process of paperwork necessary to participate in community redevelopment projects. The one point two million dollars spent on remodeling two small house on Tracy Ave. and no confirming receipts is not indicative of malfeasance. According to the meathead Cleaver "I don't know nuthin' bout that I'm just a preacher". Interesting though that subsequently that po' church paid $750,00.00 for a former country club property on 79th street just east of Oldham Road, (north side of the road if your looking for it). Nope no corruption, wrongdoing, or lack of judgement here. You could ask former KC FBI director Jeff Lanza, but he's got a brown ring around his waist with his lips so far up the democrats butts he couldn't see anything. Don't you just love fairy tales?  later gnome

Nobodty likes to be told "I told you so", do they? Still I did warn you all about what was coming, what the commucrats were aiming for. Did you listen? Most people just aren't bright enough/quick enough to get it. The equivalence concept coupled with the insidious creeping communist agenda extolled and promoted by the obamatron are false. Gays aren't the same as heterosexuals, communism is not the equivalent of democracy, men are not the same as woman, rights are not the same as needs nor wants, fairness cannot be achieved with unfairness (preferences), justice will not prevail through injustice ( O.J.Simpson), life the first and most important right and tne ideals of the constitution will not be realized by electing a reprobate without scruples or dedication to truth. I receive less than $600.oo a month due to a contactual  relationship with our governmrnt. I manage to have a lifestyle, while certainly not opulent, is still adequate for my needs, though the Brewski complains about the cheap dog food I provide. Hey, he's just a dog after all, and I am in charge! Regardless, our lives are positively opulent when compared to the average citizen of so-called third world countries. Your lifestyles will most certainly decline should this vacuous, vapid person be elevated to the position of president, mine won't.I never miss a meal (I cook them myself) nor does the Brewski. I have over a grand in savings, a house, and the luxury of never having to answer to a moron boss. I have a few friends I can trust, relatives that I can't, and I am familiar with the angel Stephanie that drove me me to the AC/DC concert in Chicago this past weekend,( I'll post a video if I can figure out how). I qualify for foodstamps yet do not get them because.... pause for a moment and think... I have not earned them,  and thus have not applied. Oh yeah, the concert was awesome, gnarly if you will and yes, I paid my own way! Choose wisely, as I see it, you'll get what you deserve, though I did buy this computer and acoutrements to warn the nation about believing "false prophets/saviors. Was this futile? I'll just keep on truckin on, you people fend for yourselves.  later the 1st gnome

to talk of many things; of truth and lies, and the obama's racist wings. The reverend  Wright who damns us all, the terrorist Ayers that kills. The fools that vote based on race. which bring America ills. Promises made by candidates, though never realized, result in no improvements, just government over sized.                                                             Beware the jabberwok my friends and shun the frumious bandersnatch!

The gnome knows. Play carefully, day traders. In early, out late. Rate cut this morning from fed.  Gas way down, thank McCain, after all he got his buddy Bush and the oil companies to drop prices just before the election didn't he?(snicker here) Keep smiling!    later gnome

If you bought at that point, well too bad because that was a sell stock point. With this stupid bailout for banks and brokerages, one would be wise to wait before investing. With democrats in charge of fannie and freddie and their propensity to promote home purchases without considering borrowers ability to actually repay those loans, it is not surprising that foreclosures in their portfolios have increased exponentially. Nor is it unexpected that the dems in charge of same falsified earnings so as to enable themselves millions of dollars in bonuses. While blaming republicans for being greedy corporate profiteers apparently they felt it was their turn to screw the "little guy".  Which party now represents greed and corruption? later gnome- oh yeah-ha ha ha

Are you paying attention fellow citizens? I just heard it on radio news, Atlanta has a gasoline shortage due to laws passed by fools, whose vote was bought with campaign "contributions"  from anti-capitalists, that promoted fuel variations that have little effect on pollution but force production and use of ineffective environmentally correct fuels. Well at least they feel good cause they "did" something, never mind that it does not work as intended but at least it screws the evil oil companies, oh wait, no it doesn't, it just screws the average guy trying to get to work. Well, he needs to realize it's for his own good. God save the environment, sorry, Gore the environment, he knows best!  later 1st gnome

Then again perhaps he lacks the perspicacity to ascertain the "best" choice for his selection of a vice-president.  Good 'ol Joe knows who is well-schooled in vice. Obviously la-belle has a tighter leash than Shrillery had at her disposal and the choke collar has come into play. Irony sublime. It wouldn't surprise me at all after Biding some time, comes the announcement that "due to an unforseen family crisis" Joe finds it necessary to (in traditional lawyer speak) recuse himself from consideration on the ballot. Perhaps Charlie can wrangle an invitation, since colorization seems to be the primary qualification needed.  later 1st gnome

Day's light will hopefully reveal the truth of what is discussed here. For those of you that disagree with what I write then offer proof of your assertions. Opinions and feelings do not meet the criteria, however heartfelt or well-intentioned. Don't ask me to prove what I assert, offer evidence (verifiable and logical) of contrary positions. Please note that logical thinking is required, whereas wishful conjecture is disregarded as without merit. To that point then, hoping (BO's own pronouncement) is a nebulous and indecipherable process. Change without specificity as to what change (other than personnel) is likewise sufficiently vague so as to encompass essentially anything. Vacuous concepts do not represent leadership qualities, rather they indicate a lack of substantial ideas, with the hope that an actual plan that hasn't yet been formulated  will be unnoticed. If the "chosen one" has no plan-beware. If indeed he has a plan and will not reveal it, then be doubly alarmed. An elected official with the impression that his ascension into office permits or justifies whatever his course of action turns out to be (remember, he can't or won't say), the consequences can indeed be dire if not catastrophic. Pay heed good citizens, a salesman will only extoll virtues, never mentioning any drawbacks. later 1st gnome

First we should contrast Sarah Palin's and obama's character. Palin's belief in the sanctity of life led her to give birth to a child, that is both loved and well cared for, despite liberals' view that the inconvenience of having such a child requires an abortion, so as to avoid the excessive burden (time, money, even self- esteem) which would surely ensue. Obama, displaying his obvious political ambitions when confronted with his 20 year relationship with the unreverent Wright, tries initially to dismiss his association with him as a "crazy uncle"  familial thing. Subsequently, he then, in an obvious moment of revelation, and in keeping with anointed status, "decides" to sever ties with this theological reprobate that damns this country. Is not the contrast of genuineness of character obvious? If not, then the phrase "politically expediant" will also be indecipherable or incomprehensible. Character tells, obama's smells. Shall we now procede to experience at an executive level ? Obama's consists of, wait a minute, there is none to recount. While it is true that Palin's limited experience as an executive consists of only a mayoral position of a reatively small city (you know, closer to the little guy, average citizen, where missteps are more obvious) and just under 2 years as governor of the largest state where the population is so dispersed and varied that being responsive to all their needs while monitoring those  evil oil companies, is likely a simple task. Of course it does pale when compared to the daunting task of organizing protests against-or is it for the cause de jour. The failure of my shift key at certain inopportune times should not be inferred as indicative of the authors disdain of or disrespect for abama.later gnome

The biggest failing of John McCain according to the dems. is his voting in support of Bush's position 90% of the time, they are wrong of course as usual. His most egregious failing is his inclination to accept even a portion of any of their programs or reasoning as rational, fact based, or acceptable. His campaign finance reform fiasco resulted in the suckers supported by Soros. His co-authoring of the education bill with the son of a bootlegger  (Kennedy) resulted in an even more bloated and costly system though results thusfar have been a diminishing in actual education (test scores nationwide are down), His intial stand regarding invading criminals across our southern borders, commonly referred to as illegal immigration (just what part of illegal he doesn't  comprehend baffles me). Additionally, as someone who has undergone actual torture, which he reminds us all of frequently, his mistaking the extreme distress of water boarding with torture, which results in physical injury or death, makes his threshold requirements rather tepid. Indeed, for a water safety instructors certificate which I obtained, it was common to hold the student under water until the point at which all the air was released. This did indeed cause numerous students to believe they were going to drown. None did however, indeed it was a point of pride for those that did not panic and were able to complete the task of water rescue. There are further errors in his thinking as well, but this is enough of a representation, you get the gist/idea. On one noteworthy point recently however, his good judgement appears to have returned. It is with the selection of SARAH PALIN as a vice-presidential candidate that will persuade many to cast their votes his direction.  bravo; later 1st gnome

Retired military, live with the Brewski the greatest schnauzer German-American dog,so he tells me, even though he's never been to Germany, but only listens when I speak German. (He insisted I put that part in.)Follow politics closely, consequently despise politicians. Read a lot, forgotten more than most people know,(Does that sound arrogant?) Oh well, could be,don't care as I am unconcerned with what others think of me, however I much prefer the designation of supercilious, same meaning. but it does contain super as the prefix.
