 A recent thread started by a self-described "commie" attempts to explain and support Socialism.  This poster implied those of us who do not recognize the superiority of Socialsim are either "right-wing" or just uneducated or lack the intellectual ability to know what is good for us.

One primary aspect of Socialism is to promote the nationalization of all industry "for the common good" of all people. Socialists say, "Let the government take over health care and then you won't have a thing to worry about". As a Medicare recipient, I can tell you the government denies more care than any insurance company.

A socialist (such as Maxine Waters and Obama) will say, "Let government take over the oil companies and then you will have nothing to worry about". Nothing except rationing when global prices rise because they won't drill domestically. The government would control our access to fuel for our cars and homes. That speaks of a lot of control over us, doesn't it?

The people who are currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, liberal political science courses are full of this kind of misinformation.  They are too young to remember the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republic) and how the people of that regime lived.  If Marxism, Socialism and Communism are too fantastic to believe, why did the people of this regime revolt and start working toward capitalism? 

In theory, all the "we're in it together" philosophies sound fantastic.  In practice, they fail miserably and what results is a dictatorial government with NO power belonging to the people.  In fact, in the USSR, they couldn't even have back yard gardens without permission from the local government.  Even when approved, the garden could not be for their own use and consumption.

Folks, whatever you give the government, regardless of how sweet and warm and cuddly it all sounds is power you will never get back. Give away one ounce of personal liberty and it is lost forever.

Commie-side, OEL, I hope you will one day realize that fact.  If you give up individual rights, if you give up motivation to succeed for the individual, if you give up opportunity to grow and rise above your current state, then you destroy the greatest social experiement in mankind's history.

Answer: "D" of course. What the American media following and fawning over Obama failed to mention about his Berlin speech was why the crowds were really there. 95% of them could care less about Obama or American politics. They came to see a free concert with the German equivalents of Willy Nelson and Madonna headlining. Also, Obama's campaign offered free brats,pizza and beer.

Obama was an unwelcome and boring interruption giving a political speech in a foreign language between the acts which is why the crowd only gave lame applause a couple of times - after all, how many of them spoke English or cared less? Obama didn't care about the crowd either. His speech was really for the American media and the crowd was a backdrop for the photo ops.

And the American media bit on it hook line and sinker and just sorta, kinda forgot to mention the rock bands that really drew the crowds.

On another note. Someone did the math on Obama the Senator.

 He has only been a Senator for 18 months. But with all the recesses, four day weekends, campaigning and absences, Obama has only spent about 6 weeks of workdays on the Senate floor as one of the most junior Senators. Most of his votes, about 80% when he was not absent, have been "present" or "abstain".

He also chairs a committee that has never met because the chairman has never called a meeting.

As a trial lawyer he only tried 14 cases in court - and minor ones at that.

As a "community organizer" his major cause was getting the asbestos out of a housing project. After 2 years of trying the asbestos was still there when he left and is still there even now that he is a Senator and presumably has some pull to get things done.

That's it. His entire real world work resume. 6 weeks work in the Senate with nothing to show for it. Two years as a lawyer and only 14 minor trials. And two years as a "community organizer" with nothing accomplished.

In view of the fact that Tyson Foods is doing away with Labor Day, a day designed to honor the American worker, and replacing it with a muslim holiday, I am boycotting all Tyson products.

I invite all Americans to do the same.

In this area, Tyson also sells under the brand, Corn King. I have requested a list of all restaurants and food processing sites that use Tyson products. I will boycott those as well.

We cannot let muslims take our traditions, take our holidays, demand special considerations denied to Americans any longer.

Tyson Drops Labor Day for Muslim Holiday SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. —

Workers at the Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Shelbyville will no longer have a paid day off on Labor Day but will instead be granted the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr.

According to a news release from the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, a new 5-year contract at the plant included the change to accommodate Muslim workers at the plant. Tyson's director of media relations Gary Mickelson said the contract includes eight paid holidays — the same number as the old contract. Eid al-Fitr — which falls on Oct. 1 this year — marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.

Union leaders say implementing the holiday was important for the nearly 700 Muslims, many of them Somalis, who work at the plant that employs a total of 1,200 people.

Folks, what is it going to take before people in this country wake up to what is happening in Europe to ensure it doesn't happen here? Colleges and businesses are capitualting to the muslims who demand more and more and more. According to Peter Hammond in Slavery, Terrorism & Islam: The Historical Roots and Comtemporary Threat  the population timeline for muslims taking over is this:

1% of the population--regarded as a peace-loving minority

2-3% - they begin to prosletyze

5% - start to exercise inordinate influence. Will push for Halal (clean food according to Islamic law thereby requiring muslim employment in food preparation) and other muslim requirements for their religion (foot baths at the airport and colleges, special restroom considerations, prayer rooms, not being required to check out tobacco or liquor at supermarkets or to touch and check out pork, etc.) This is when they start trying to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia Law (wife murders, daughter honor killings, infidel murders all OK under this law)

10% - Increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their condition (Paris riots, London subway bombing, London car bomb attempts by 3 doctors)

20% - Hair trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, etc.

40% - Widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare

60% - unfettered prosecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansings, use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels

80% - State run ethnic cleansing and genocide

100% - Supposed peace because only muslims will be alive. However, historically, to satisfy their blood lust, muslims start killing each other for a variety of reasons.

The Obama campaign is trying to say the reason Obama did not visit wounded troops in Germany was because he felt it was "inappropriate" to do so on a campaign-funded trip.

What??  Why??  Wounded vets vote.  Wounded vets donate to campaigns.  Does Obama think the only "appropriate" time to visit wounded soldiers is when the taxpayer is paying for his trip?

This guy does NOT care about our military, this guy is as anti-American as are his pastor and friends (Ayers, the guy who wanted to overthrow our gorvernment.  Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam who wants to overthrow America) 

This guy is the most far-left, radical liberal in the Senate.  If he gets elected and if he gets a super majority in Congress he and they will abolish many of the rights we hold dear and they WILL turn us into a socialist state.

Nearly 7 in 10 Americans (67 percent) say they believe most in the media want Obama to win the November election—while a scant 11 percent think the media are pulling for John McCain. Moreover, only about 1 in 10 (11 percent) volunteers the belief that the media is neutral on the race to become the 44th President of the United States.

When asked to rate the objectivity of media coverage of the campaigns, Americans feel Obama gets more of a positive spin by a better than 7-to-1 margin (46 percent more positive toward Obama; 6 percent more positive toward McCain). Just under 4 Americans in 10 (36 percent) says both campaigns are being covered objectively.

The liberals in New York are totally out of control in my opinion.  Their latest insanity, according to a news story last night on TV, is to require restaurants to prominently display the total calories of every meal on the menu.  If a restaurant fails to comply, they are subject to a $2,000 fine for each occurrence.

Good Grief !  They are taking legislative and governmental control to a new high, or should I say low.

Does this mean every hot dog vendor has to have the caloric content of his hotdogs and buns posted?

Does this mean every mom 'n pop diner, cafe or kiosk has to have the caloric value of every breakfast, lunch and dinner choice posted on the menu?  How can they afford to have all meals appraised?

Once again, liberals do not call for nor teach responsiblity for one's self, instead the nannies are going to take care of the idiots out there voting for them.  Once again, personal responsibility gets thrown in the trash can so "those who know best" can take care of "we who know nothing". 

Is anyone else out there tired of the liberals telling us how to live, how to eat, how to breathe, how to drive?  Is  anyone else out there sick and tired of liberals making choices for you and then legislating those choices based upon their baseless "facts" at the moment? 

The liberals will all claim there is no liberal bias in network news programs.  Afterall, they say, the conservative view is mentioned as often as the liberal view, right?        WRONG

Example:  McCain goes to Iraq.  NBC gives that a 2 sentence report in the "other political news" segment.

Obama goes to Iraq and all three network anchors go with him !!!  Their reports of "Obama in Iraq" will come from Iraq, not a desk in NY and it will involve several minutes of their news program, not just 2 sentences in the "other political news".

McCain is going from city to city to answer questions from US, from the people of this country. 

Obama holds only staged speeches, no questions from the crowd, no questions from the media.

Who gets all the news coverage?  Whose face do you see on EVERY channel, EVERY night?  Not McCain's.

George Soros has perhaps given them their marching orders.  They WILL ensure an Obama victory or those big paydays stop.

Nazi Pelosi is third in line for the presidency.
