After 20 some years of playing in bars, I got tired of the whole thing and "retired" a few years back.  Now that I've had a chance to be away from it for a while, I've decided I'd like to start playing out again.  The problem?  Finding a band to play with.

Being in my 40's, I'm not really interested in joining a 'kids' band.  However, finding grownups to play with is proving more difficult than I'd hoped.

So, if there's anybody out there reading this who knows of a band that could use a good bass player/singer, (I'm not bragging here, honest) pass on my email ([email protected]) and maybe I'll be able to get back to work soon.

Wow, that sure reads like a classified ad, doesn't it?

If you are young at heart...and have the soul..you are never too old. My son plays in Illinois..quits but can't give it up...so we understand. Try hanging out at some bars that play the type you like..keep the word out there...good luck...

Hey Bill, didn't you know that musicians aren't allowed to grow old? What's wrong with you! A year os so ago Our bass player passed on after he was instrumental in getting our band back together. Coulda used ya, but click on my picture and check us out. After all the years not playing, I bought a killer drum set and before ya knew it I was playing even better that before. We tackled the originals on our five albums and it didn't sound too bad. We went from six players to four and cooked! Concert offers started to come in when one of the players head started growing and his ego with it. The loss of our bass player was devistating, but the over inflated ego of one of the remainers was too much to handle.
Just do it or you'll never forgive yourself.

I'm an old, fat musician whose other passions in life include my family, baseball, and movies. I spent roughly ten years blogging about Royals baseball for various websites before taking a step away a couple of years ago to recharge. Chances are I'll devote some space here to talking about the Royals, but that won't be the only topic I touch on.
