Anyone else get a bit nervous when Ryan Seacrest took those extra few seconds to announce David Cook would be the one to join David Archuleta in the American Idol final?  I felt pretty sure Cook would be in there... but those guys at Idol are very good at building the drama...

Still, we got the outcome everyone in the Metro wanted, and now we've got the David vs. David final.  As I said on the news tonight after the show, I'll be out in LA covering the American Idol final from Monday through Thursday.  I can't wait; I've been fortunate enough to get to cover the show (and more specifically David Cook) ever since the first auditions for the Idol producers back at the Qwest Center in Omaha last August... and it's very cool to get a chance to be there when the show wraps up next week.  Of course, in addition to our reports on Fox 4, we hope to have a bunch of blog entries and pictures on the website here for you guys to check out.

Thank you for your upbeat report on DC. He is my favorite for AI by a mile, no a zillion miles! Go DC!

Yes, I almost had a heart attack (well, no, but my heart was racing). I still wonder who got the most votes, DA or DC. I hope DC, but idol keeps announcing DA is safe first week after week. Why doesn't idol announce #'s or percentage of votes anymore? And how come DA is getting more press than DC? DA's father isn't in this thing, and I'm already tired about it and don't want DA to win because of sympathy votes, dang!

If you read some of the national web sites like CNN or Foxnews, they actually favor DC. They bag on DA to an extent about his cheesiness. DC should win it all and I hope Simon didn't jinx him by saying so.

The thing I'm worried about is the survey that is out there that says a lot of people want DC to win, but they bet that DA will win because of his versatile fan base with all the tweens, etc. DC should win, but DA's little fans are more likely to dial the full 4 hours next Tuesday...scary to think DC could get this close and come in 2nd. He really should be #1.
