IRS is very misleading on the rebate checks they are sending out.  I prepared my taxes in early February and had my refund direct deposited.  My rebate check should have been direct deposited by 5/9/08, so I thought.  What they DON'T tell you is that if you used any service to file your taxes, such as Turbo Tax, your rebate will not be direct deposited, it will be mailed.  So thinking m y check would have been deposited by tomorrow, I made arrangements with my money and am now going to have all sorts of return check charges and no way to pay for what I owe, my rent to be exact!  They tell me now that my check will be sent to me on 6/27/08! I understand that this is money that wasn't expected, but the IRS should have notified everyone of this policy.  I even received a letter from them about a month ago telling me to expect my refund to be direct deposited.  So basically, I'm screwed!!
