Frank Boal has been the Sports Director for FOX 4 since 1981. Frank also hosts “Crunchtime,” Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Sports Radio 810 WHB.
In addition to his regular anchoring and reporting duties, Frank anchors the popular “FOX 4 Sports Sunday.” He takes an in-depth look at sporting events for the week, aired on Sunday nights during “FOX 4 News at 10 p.m.” Frank is no stranger to sports. Throughout his high school and college career, he played football and was the star running back. In April 1999, Frank’s high school, Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, honored Frank by inducting him and his fellow 1964 football team members into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame. The 1964 football team is the only undefeated and untied team in the school’s history. (Frank Boal Honored At Villanova) Frank was a three year starter and co-captain for the Villanova University Wildcats from 1966-68. He graduated in 1969 with a degree in business administration. After graduation, Frank coached football at Villanova for five years. He later left the coaching ranks to follow his dream of being a broadcaster. Working both in radio and television, Frank moved up the broadcasting ladder with stops in Grand Coulee and Lake Chelan, Washington; Eureka, California; and Green Bay, Wisconsin before joining the FOX 4 sports team. Frank has covered every major sporting event, including the World Series, Major League All-Star Games, the NFL, NCAA and NBA Playoffs, as well as the U.S. Open Golf Championship. Off camera, Frank is on the board of the Keith Worthington Chapter of the ALS Society of Kansas City and is very active in the fight against diabetes. His son, Brett, is a diabetic. Frank and his wife, Jan, reside in Overland Park. They have five children and one grandchild Contact Frank at [email protected] Blog with Frank Boal (Updated 07/06) |
