Eric Burke
Eric Burke

Eric Burke joined the FOX 4 News Team in March 2002 as a general assignment reporter.  He currently reports for the weekday evening shows.  He covers breaking news throughout the metro.  It’s safe to say he’s seen and reported on many interesting events.

He started out studying business and pre-law at the University of Texas, Austin before deciding he would rather be in news.  His career has taken him to stations in Midland, Texas; Waco, Texas; and Evansville, Indiana. His dedication to “working for the community” was evidenced when he was voluntarily pepper sprayed on live TV to show viewers the effects it has on an attacker.

He calls his move to Kansas City from Evansville to work with FOX 4 his best ever and looks forward to living here for a long time to come. As a huge sports fan, he loves having the opportunity to attend Royals and Chiefs games in person, without having to drive hours to do so. And whenever he’s not watching the local teams on the field, Eric enjoys hitting the green for a game of golf.  Eric and his wife of 11 years reside in Overland Park with their daughters, Jordyn and Kaitlyn.
