C-H-A-N-G-E

For those of you that cant figure out what Obama's "Change" is, I think he explained it at the DNC in perfect fashion, just as he has over 100 other times when he spoke across the country campaining...

Listen, everyone is saying "He's talking about change this, change that..." But refusing to listen to the "change" he is trying to set forth, but the root of everyones problem is, all of the Candidates were speaking of CHANGE, it just wasnt their slogan... Thats what they arent either getting or refusing to "get"...

If McCain's slogan was "Same we can believe in" Would that put you all at ease since those of you that oppose Obama's views seem to be comfortable with? Of course our hopes and dreams and faith in Politicians have fallen flat each and every time it seems we put someone in office, so I can understand the lack of belief. But if you look at the big picture, Republican Presidents have defined what Change now means in a campaign. Absolutely nothing! They have ruined that word and now Obama will renew it.

Its funny how many people sit on this Message Board wasting countless hours attempting to sway other bloggers to vote for McCain, vote for Obama, vote for Hillary, vote for Nader... The truth is, none of you will base your vote off of what some blogger said. We are listening to the Candidates and making our decisions, we arent listening to Rep_Blogger_Dan@Yahoo .com... Its amazing how many hours people spend campaigning online on message boards for their favorite candidate trying to get their point across when at the end of the day, your mind was made up months ago, your've heard it all in the break rooms at work and school and on the news and newspapers, but when you step into that Booth come Nov.4th, none of what Rep_Blogger_Dan or Steve Pumlumski from XYZ News Station, or what Political Analyst slick-talker Christina Stuckenschneider at LMNOP Newspaper said about Obama, or even your closest friends opinions, YOU WILL STILL VOTE FOR WHO YOU WANT TO VOTE FOR BARELY BASED OFF ANYTHING THOSE PEOPLE SAID.

I can understand reasons from a News perspective, because they are on the payroll and have to come up with outlandish stories to sell newspapers or attract viewers, but when it comes to slander, scratching and clawing with someone you dont even know merely based off of opinion, then you have issues. Bottomline, if this site went down 3 months ago, all 9,000 members will still vote the same way they were if it never did... It gets old, but people feel some type of satisfaction when making a point regardless if it is 100% Fact or 100% Fiction, we all have our own reasons that hit home why we will vote for who we want to. Not one opinion on this board has changed my views, not that I am naive, I'm just not as equally stupid to believe everything I hear...

Come Nov 4th, regardless if Obama said we had 58 States, or if he has a funny Arab name (Which doesnt make him Arab) or if McCain cant remember if he owns 7 or 8 houses, or if Hillary goes whichever way the wind blows. I will still vote for CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN..

I agree with change, but change for the sake fo change is blindly dangerous. Are we as a nation to the point of desparation to jump off the proverbial cliff, just because it's different. As I responded to you on another post, I'm not voting for either Obama or McCain, and that HAS changed over the last 3 months.
I don't like Bush. He has failed us miserably on Iraq; (should have finished the job in Afghan first). He is not a leader. He failed the same way Carter did, surrounded himself with the wrong people. Reagan spent tons of money, yet we loved him becasue he was a leader.
I don't like Obama because his "Change" is to create more government and more taxes. I'm tired of the Federal Government running our lives, time to turn it over to the State and local people - who I have more control over. If you like Social Security you'll love Federal Health Care.
As a non-Bush or Obama supporter, I chuckle at all the Bush bashing, (I chuckle at all the Obama slander too but that won't fit into my next point). The U.S Congress (Senate and House controlled by Democrtas), has an approval rating of 18%, the lowest ever recorded. Bush has an approval rating of 28%, also the lowest ever recorded, but still 55% higher than the Democratic Congress!!! So, Bush bashing is a kin to endorsing Obama's "Change" for the sake of change... the hammer is missing the nail.
I want change too... Less Government, not MORE.

You are right, and to add we still have 2 people left to vote for. Just like Kerry & Bush, it was a Best of the Worst situation, but regardless we still will end up with one of the two in office.

Sure, the Dem Congress has a 18% approval rating, but there is this Republican in office. They've been at odds since forever and he doesnt seem to care if things get better.

All in all, either McCain or Obama will be in office, thats the reality and we still have to live in this country under the power of a Gov. In some instances, more Gov is much needed.

I want Change too, but if Obama does ONE thing on his agenda, thats more betterment than Bush has accomplished in 8 years and more of a change that McCain wont deliver if elected.

Actually the congress can and has overridden Bush's vetos so congress is in charge but they are not working on real bills but passing national cowboy day, in honor of the democratic convention in Denver, national plumbers week, and so on and so forth but not on 12 appropreation bills that run the government and not on the drill here drill now. Speaker of the house Reid said he will bring Washington to a standstill before he allows a vote on it, Pelosi has told other democrats to say they are for drilling and blame her for not being able to get a vote on it so they can get elected and everyone is blaming Bush. Get it? The democrats do not work with a republican president, they said they would not and they have not. Go check it out.

My views on Pelosi... Blehhh! She's no good.
Dem. Congress... Blehhh! They suck.

I am agreeing with you regarding the Congress, they are lazy and may as well work from home.

DogJ, with the lack of accomplishments of government in the U.S., there is clearly room for it to play a much more constructive role in people’s lives. With the rate we are going today, many Americans sense this already. One of the most common complaints about government is that it is not doing enough to address a lot of problems. Sure the air is cleaner than it was, but we still have major smog problems in many cities. Of course we have done much to reduce poverty among the elderly, but a high level of poverty among the general population still exists. And while Medicare and Medicaid have greatly increased the people covered by health insurance, 47 million people remain uninsured. Some may be tempted to conclude from these situations that government simply can’t do anything more to help – that we have reached the limits of what government can do in these areas. But this is not the case. We know that government could actually do much more. How do we know this? Because governments in many other advanced democracies have already done much more to effectively address these problems. The fact that we lag behind our democratic neighbors in so many policy areas demonstrates that our government could accomplish even more than it has done already. There is a real possibility that increased government efforts could do much more to improve our lives in significant ways. Such as Gas Prices being unfairly im

continued...

Such as Gas Prices being unfairly imposed upon us, it makes no sense for one side of the city to be 3.45 and on the other side 3.65 and an hour away 3.25, they need to govern that and make it clean across the board. There are so many things that need to be Gov'd..

The right type of Gov can protect our rights and liberties as well..

So, in the end the only thing we are really disagreeing on is WHO should lead the change... the Feds or the States.
I say since the Feds have amassed a deficeit equal to $505,000 per household, it's the States turn.
In fairness, I think your gas price anology smells of Communism. Why do prices, gas, health, food, etc. have to be equal everywhere? Even if the playing field is level, the results will not be identical.

As for the gas analogy, this gas thing makes no sense. There is some small price gouging, and with state and local taxes, its all the same when you buy a pair of shoes in St. Louis and Kansas City, but fuel prices vary. Is Mid Missouri closer to the Refineries where it can be 20 cents less than Kansas City? I say a system needs to be in place so there is fairness.

We don't need "more government", we need to overhaul what we have now. Return it to a "government, of, by and for the people". Maybe appoint a committee of "average taxpayers" to monitor what the politicians do, behind closed doors.

The point is the government so far has shown a great lack of concern for our nation. It seems they are more concerned with their agendas. This includes all of them. There have been few who actually listen to we the people and with the democrats and thier I know best they are going just a tad over. Not that the others aren't as bad. I just do not care for Pelosi and her my way or high way, and Reid with his threat to shut the government down before he allows a vote on what he does not want. It is time for a change alright but not to a man who votes and abides by the very people who are giving Americans a shaft right now by stalling on votes and telling the people who elected them to shove it they know what is best.

The gas thing is simple. There are different additives in the gas for each region. City has to have more for the pollution factor. Rural has less and therefore cheaper. Also, the trucking company isn't going to deliver gas 10 miles for the same price as 50 miles.

Change has been the theme of every election federal, state, and city since George Washington. Change always occurs with a new president. The problem is that some people like the changes that take place and others don’t; some are benefited and some aren’t. One president doesn’t fit all. Most of the problems we face as a society are problems we have created ourselves. But we don’t want to accept responsibility for our own failings, so we blame the government. Not matter who is elected, this won’t change.

bulldogman, I thought the government subsidizes to rural areas to encourage people to work in the cities, so to do so the price of gas is relatively ten cents cheaper than the inner city. Yeah DogJ, I believe the ball should be handed to the state, the Feds have total f'd the system.

I am not sure if they do or not, but I think I remember watching on 4 about the additives. Gas where I live is usually fifteen to twenty five cents cheaper than kc.

I heard his speech, lower gas prices, an affordable health care payment plan for most everyone, terminating the Iraq War, jobs, tax relief for the middle class, the economy, you name he promised it.

No one person can do this, either party, and no one person made it all go bad. It's a world economy.

A useless election day.

i agree, obama talks about Changing America, and changing this, changing that, and in fact,he cant do all that he promises, neither party can undo all this mess..only God can,and this is all part of His plan..God's time is coming, but so is Satan's time too(for awhile anyway)..even Satan has many followers too..

he2funny,
Obama is promising the impossible. He is just not experienced enough, hell I think there are bloggers here more politically experienced. Don't get me wrong McCain isn't worth a BOOGEDY either. I believe a retarded poodle can run this country better than any of these jokers running.

This is to everybody....
Honestly, does anybody think Obama would have this much support if he was caucasion? Afterall he did already play the race card with the whole "I don't look like the other past presidents on our money" (well, something along them lines). I'm sorry as a minority myself I believe people's political eyes are being clouded by "Wow, an african american could finally end up winning the oval office" what i just said will probably be attacked but you know what? I really don't give a BOOGEDY because I bet Obama would have all of his same supporters if him and McCain switched views. All it is is his appearance, if it weren't for his appearance and he was caucasion Hillary would of picked up the nomination a long time ago, and you Obama supporters know I'm right whether you want to admit it or not.

Remember people ALL of these politicians are a bunch of good for nothing liars that will tell you anything to win your vote. So before you vote please use that thing inside your head called a brain and try to attempt to look past the candidates appearances. That is the problem with this year, statistically more young people than ever will be voting. What does young mean? Inexperienced, i'm not calling young people dumb but alot of them hasn't honed their common se
