Many Christians feel that we are on the brink of the end times. Of course, many generations before us felt the same as well, but few ever had the weaponry and the abilities for simultaneous world views as we have now.
What do you think?
Do you feel the anti-christ is heading into power soon?
If so, who do you feel he might be and why?
If personal ID implanted in the hand or an eyeprint is required to be used for purchases, how do you plan to survive?
Just some questions for some interesting, and helpful, discussion.

SOMETIMES YOU FEEL SAFE AND BELIEVING THAT YOUR LOVED ONES ARE GIVING THE BEST CARE AND DIAGNOSE. WELL AFTER THE INCIDENT MY DAUGHTER HAD TO GO THROUGH, I THINK I WILL JUST HAVE TO SEE TO IT THAT SHE IS NEVER LEFT ALONE AGAIN IN ANY HOSPITAL, NOT EVEN WHILE I PAY A BILL.......... SHE WAS FREQUENTLY ATTENDED TO , NOT EVEN GIVEN A SPONGE BATH, NOT TO EVEN TAKE HER VITALS, BUT MAYBE ONE TIME SINCE SHE WAS THERE FOR TWO DAYS, I CALL THIS TYPE OF HOSPITAL POOR TRAINED STAFF MEMBERS, BUT WITH THE UP TO DATEEQUIPMENT AND SOURCES, THIS IS ABSURD, SOMEONE NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THESE TYPE OF FACILITIES, THEY ARE NOT CALLED HOSPITALS ANYMORE, JUST ASYLLUMS.

Before I get started I want to say that the topics listed for us to use are lacking in variety. This doesn't really fit in any of them, but since I HAD to pick one...
I've seriously been on a diet for the last year. When I say that, trust me when I say we're not talking about someone trying to lose 30, or 40, or even 50 lbs. When we began this current effort, I weighed in at a svelt 500 lbs. Yeah, you read right, I said 500.
I didn't get there overnight, to be sure and never expected the journey back to be swift either. I was always big, even as a young child and have struggled with weight for as long as I can remember. Over the years I've dieted with varying degrees of success, followed by slow, and sometimes not so slow, periods of putting the weight back on and increasing it. So that's how I got here.
Anyway, a year ago my wife's company decided to start a Weight Watchers group on company time which she joined. I probably shouldn't tell you this, but she too was a bit on the large side...like 440 lbs. I decided to follow along with the program, because it was one of the few I hadn't tried previously and so we were committed. In an effort to ensure our success we cleaned out all the cabinets of everything high in fat, sugar, and calories, and gave it all away leaving in the house only things that were good for us. So went step one.
Next, we decided that we needed some sort of material motivation to make this work. She came up with the idea of making it a contest. It had to be something big enough to keep us on track for a rather long time, so we settled on this: the first one to get down to 200 lbs. gets to pick out a cool car. We don't have to declare what that car is until we get there, but there it is.
As I said, we started this little project a year ago. In that time, my wife has lost about 50 lbs, while I have lost...100lbs! That sounds like a lot, and it is, but it's only a third of my ultimate goal. She's a little ticked that I've pretty much caught up with her, but this is one time I'm not letting her pouting get to me. I have no intention of letting her win.
So as you can see, I'm kinda proud of my accomplishment thus far, even though there's still a long way to go. I suppose the most important thing to remember is even if I don't win the car, I still get my life back. I'd just have to live it riding in her car.
We have a Baptist preacher running for president. We have a Christian converted from Islam running for president. We have a Mormon running for president. At least two candidates are Methodists and one an Episcopalian, another Catholic. How important should his religion be as we consider our future president? Do we have to consider it at all? I suppose at the far extent of the dicotomy we should. I don't believe we'll ever elect a practicing cannibal, probably not a practitioner of Voodoo, nor an absolute pacifist such as a Quaker. Will our view of the sanctity of life affect our attitude about the legality of abortion, or the death penalty, or war. Will those who believe in the infallable pope feel they must vote for a practicing Catholic, no matter what. And will those who believe that God just kind of guided creation and anyone who is good and kind (sort of) is going to heaven and a good God really didn't mean it when he said "lake of eternal fire".
I guess our faith, if we have any, will affect our decision. Whether it should or not!!!!
So, can you believe a candidate who claims to abide by what his church teaches? Well, to quote......"By their fruits you will know them."
If you are a believer, in anything, now would be a good time to pray that the leader we choose will be good for the country.
If my tears could cry a river, I would buy a great big boat,
Then save every single teardrop until that boat could float!
Id find me a beautiful rainbow, and steal its colors for my bow,
Then sail my boat to heaven, So I could find you there somehow!
Together we could sail, and enjoy heavens clear blue sea,
In our boat of many colors, Oh what a joyous day that would be!
I've been doing a lot of reading about "caregiving" lately since my time has been spent being a caregiver for my mother who had a stroke back in May. According to all the sites, they say to keep a journal of what your days consist of, I really should have done this back in the beginning because I think I would have been able to "unload" if I had an avenue to release my emotions.
I enjoy spending time with my mother, although, she has become the child unfortunately that she never wanted to become. I see her frustration in her eyes when I tuck her into bed at night. I know that she did not want her later years to be spent this way. I don't know how long I can keep her happy enough not to give up but to continue her path to better health. It is so funny how life can come back and kick ya in the teeth, I guess that's what is commonly referred to as "karma".
Last Friday before I left for the weekend, she told me she would be spending the night in her room because she didn't want to make anyone throw up at the sight of her eating. I have two emotions raging 1) anger, for the lack of compassion that is being shown for this woman and 2) sadness that she would be embarrassed that the sight of her eating a meal would cause anyone to become ill.
WHEN GOD SENDS US AN ANGEL
An Angel guides us when we are lost, our fears they duly ward
They take us safely under their wing, Yet on earth they reap no reward.
Angels follow us and keep us safe, Our connection to heaven above
Doing their good to show us, the abundance of Gods love.
Sometimes when we pray for a miracle, we focus on what has gone wrong
When all the while God has already sent, His angel to help us along!
In this dark and lonely world, To God we can give our fears in prayer,
Then accept the miracle he sends down, of the angel thats unaware!
In the form of a child or a stranger, Perhaps in the hand of a friend
A prayer to heaven for guidance and strength, Perhaps an angel is what god will send!
So rest assured in this world unkind, at your side you may have a guest,
An angel that follows one step behind, For through her you shall know you are blessed!
BY CARRIE NEIGHBORS
Written in memory of my 10 year old sister that died. An Angel that left her wings behind to come to earth for just a short while to bless our lives.
There are many treasures upon this earth
We shall intently hold on to
But the treasures we take to heaven
Are rare and very few.
Trust in Gods hands thy most cherished treasures
Guarding them close to your heart
Give unto God, what to God is due
Far from him shall thee never depart.
For someday everything we have held will be gone
Only then shall we understand
The only treasure we can take with us
Is what was placed in Gods unchanging hand.

THE GARDEN--------by carrie neighbors
There is a garden up in heaven where the colors never fade
Its welcome sign is always bright even in the shade
And going down the middle is a trail made out of stone
It’s wide enough for two so no one ever walks alone.
As angels prim the garden unto God they sing their praise
How could so much beauty not bring joy into their days?
A place with only sunshine, absent of life’s sorrow
Where days melt into years and there's no fear about tomorrow.
I walk through my own garden, its flowers smell so sweet
It’s my little piece of heaven, where God and me can meet
Someday in heavens Garden I will walk by Gods welcome sign
For now I am just content to know that God has walked by mine!
