I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem, but since moving to my new neighborhood in May I notice more and more cars everyday parking in the street.  First off, sure it's legal so no big deal right.  Well, I'm just curious why you bought that house with that nice double wide driveway that you never use.  There is no basketball goal setup so you can't use that excuse.  You don't have kids in your driveway making a hopscotch board with big fat chalk.  So why do you want to park your brand new F150 or Accura in the road.  Are you hoping it gets hit?  I guess people are just strange like that.

Oh I know why, it's so you have actually walk more than 10 feet to your door, then you can call it excercise.  Well maybe not!

This is a good question. I guess people are just stupid and dont care about their vehicles.

I share your frustration.

Our neighbor across the street parks right behind our driveway...even though we've already backed into their car (accidently lol). And our other neighbor has a corner lot and owns 4 vehicles, 2 of which are always parked on the street.

We love our neighbors...

I think it is inconsiderate to do this. My neighbor does it too. I think they feel like they own everything. Maybe that's not it, but it is the appearance...

I sometimes take a shortcut through a neighborhood in the Northland. There is a very steep hill with several pretty good curves. People always park their vehicles on these curves. I agree with you dougbce, it really does seem like they want to be hit. One of these curves is just before the top of the hill. If you're going up it and a car is parked on the right side of the road, you're pretty much running blind. What happened to common sense? A 5 year old could figure out that it's dangerous to park there. Oh, forgot to say...the driveways are usually empty. Go figure.

A little bit of ice on the roads will solve the problem.

Well I am wondering why do they call it a driveway when you park on it but call a parkway when you drive on it?

I was on 72nd st yesterday. 72nd street off I-29 going east arund passed the lake aukomis area. anyways, as you come around then bend there before you get to brentwood apartments. I had a whole group of my friends back in high school die in a bad car accident because they were driving too fast and flew off into a ditch. well yesterday i noticed a new housing development there and they had constructed a wall. not just a wall, but a very large stone wall probably to house the new sign for the neighborhood. so now if someone drives too fast around the corner they will now hit this new wall instead of a ditch. makes alot of sense. then they erected (oh, i said erected hahah) anyways, they put up a stop sign but only coming the opposite direction, not even bothering the direction that the cars fly off into the brick wall. weird....

I know that curve, NaderChaser. That has been a bad spot for years. My husband rolled his car on that bend years ago. You're right. They need to put up a stop sign for the eastbound traffic, too. That's funny about driveway and parkway. :)

They just dont want to get oil in the driveway, it will hurt the resale value - LOL

During the spring and summer I've always got the scanner going along with my video camera and digital camera ready to go chasing storms looking for the next great photo oppurtunity.
