so glad to see that american idol is the lead story again!  apparently everyone needs to drop what they are doing just to come out and welcome the local american idol contestant back home.  i have seen that there is a big party for him, parades, who knows what else.  i even saw a news story about his childhood home for sale.  heres a clue...who cares!  did we forget about all of our military heroes that die everyday fighting for freedom?  100k people just died in a cyclone in myanmar...why does this website continue to put a nobody at the top of news day in and day out?  I for one cannot wait for this to come to an end.

You said it, apparently peoples lifes are so boring and un-fulfilled that they would probably die without television reality shows,

The people of myanmar are making their own bed by seizing UN aid. I am done with that story. If they refuse to take the assistance and want to regulate how everything needs to be done at this time of need, then the heck with them.

My wife thought that they were making such a big deal about this nobody because he has Down Syndrome. I had to tell her that he is not retarded.....He just looks that way.

jdembski, do you think that the U.S. government would do the same thing in the same situation? I think so. The people of Myanmar aren't refusing or controlling the aid, their government is.

This drives me insane as well.

My kids watch American idiot for a full hour, then the news comes on, and the top story is, guess what? MORE AMERICAN IDIOT

IT'S NOT NEWS PEOPLE. It's ENTERTAINMENT.

We do live in the entertainment age, don't we?

The UN is cutting off sending anything else because the government there is wanting to control all of the food. It most likely won't go to those that need it.

They're cutting off aid and now they won't even tell their people the winner of American Idol when it is announced. Torture.

Not funny Twenty2, I DO have a 15 year old with Down Syndrome. David Cook does NOT have it, but you're just jealous because he really IS talented., He does have a brother that has cancer. So are you going to make fun of that too you friggin idiot???

Wow. So many negative people! I guess you can always change channels and watch something more depressing, but I was really moved by the nice story they're doing on a hometown boy who is making something of himself. I'm proud of David and it's nice to see a positive news story for a change.
